Tucked away at the bottom of a hill, called Telgħa t’Alla u Ommu, in Burmarrad, is perhaps one reason why. The Sixth Leaf restaurant has become a mecca for vegans, with its creative, gourmet spin on veganism going a long way to change perceptions.
“Save Bluefin Tuna,” local online guide Lovin Malta quoted Sixth Leaf staff as saying as they served a meat-free dish resembling a creation straight out of a proper teppanyaki grill. As well as specialising in creating well-loved meat and fish dishes without meat or fish, the
Sixth Leaf also makes the most of field-fresh, Mediterranean sun-kissed natural produce.
